Once Again Nut Butter
Founded in 1976 by a husband-and-wife team with an entrepreneurial flair, Once Again Nut Butter has grown from a company run out of an 800-square-foot basement into a thriving business that produces millions of pounds of organic and natural nut and seed butter. Since 1981, Once Again has operated out of a former turn-of-the-century silk production facility in Nunda, New York, which was converted for nut butter production. They are now 100% employee-owned, offer a variety of gourmet nut butter, most of which are vegan and organic, and have been rated the #1 selling organic nut butter brand by SPINS.
In 2016, Once Again Nut Butter opened its $13 million, 37,000-square-foot plant near its headquarters and inside an existing plant in Nunda, Livingston County. The new plant houses its peanut butter operations, allowing its other plant to focus on cashews, almonds, honey, and other products. The project created 15 new jobs and allowed the company to retain 67 employees, the majority of whom work and live in Nunda. The Livingston County IDA assisted in the form of a payment instead of a tax agreement, sales tax exemption, and mortgage recording exemption.
