Livonia brewery Rising Storm opens this weekend

Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Bill Blake and Jeff Riedl experienced that and more while trying to turn their shared dream into a reality.

From multiple locations falling through to issues with the build-out in the space and the lack of plumbing, it wasn't easy. But the three-year odyssey for Blake and Riedl culminates at noon Saturday with the opening of Rising Storm Brewing, 5750 S. Lima Road in Livonia, Livingston County.

"We were persistent and kept going," said Blake in a matter-of-fact manner. "If you believe in something enough, you keep pushing for it."

The brewery name is befitting of the journey, they note. And those troubles and hurdles will be miles away when the doors officially open Saturday and Riedl and Blake welcome in the customers who they hope will become their friends…
