LivCo Walls Mural Festival is Bringing Nine New Must-See Murals to Livingston County
Step Out Buffalo
This summer, they are hosting the first-ever county-wide mural festival in New York State. Nine international artists will be coming to paint large-scale murals in each of the nine historic villages of Livingston County during the month of July.
LivCo Walls Mural Festival is a part of Livingston County’s ongoing economic development and community beautification efforts.
This project is also about highlighting the different communities you’ll find in Livingston County and it’s an incredible opportunity to introduce public art to villages that are experiencing murals for the first time ever.
The nine world-class muralists were competitively selected to install these murals, which will be unveiled over the course of three weekends throughout the duration of the festival. With the reveal of each mural, there will also be “Muralist Talks” to explain the process, inspiration, and creativity behind each of their featured pieces. Two artists to be featured include, Arlin Graff, renowned spray paint artist from Sao Paulo, Brazil who recently painted a mural at Coachella, and Louise Jones from Detroit, Michigan, who has one of her floral murals in downtown Buffalo. Each village will also be hosting dedication ceremonies in their downtowns with festivities including interactive art, live music, performances, children’s activities, food, local beer and so much more! Check out the full itinerary for each individual village here.
