Where do you live?
Avon, New York
What brought you to LivCo?
College is what brought me to Livingston County. I fell in love with SUNY Geneseo after only one visit and knew that it was where I wanted to go to school. I stayed in Geneseo post-college and worked with the Alliance for Business Growth, a partnership between the Counties of Livingston and Wyoming that focused on small business development. A community developer opening took me to Buffalo where I ran the New York Main Street program in the Western New York and Finger Lakes Regions for several years, but when it was time to start a family I knew that it was time to move back to LivCo. Great schools, friendly neighbors, quaint Main Streets, and miles and miles of parks and trails… a perfect place to live and raise kids.
What do you primarily work on in the office?
I’m a jack of all trades but my main focus is on grants, writing grant applications, and administering grant funding.
Favorite LivCo Spot:
Al Lorenz Park is a best-kept secret and my favorite place to hike. This 80-acre park runs alongside the Genesee River and overlooks the Mount Morris Dam. It has a nice variety of trails, water, and woods, and the kids love the playground equipment.
Favorite LivCo Meal:
Anything from Milk and Honey Cafe!
Favorite LivCo Event:
I love the summer concerts on the lawn at the Wadsworth Homestead, it’s such a laid-back vibe and you always run into so many people you know.
How do you invest in LivCo?
I didn’t grow up here but LivCo is definitely my home. This is where I bought my first house, it’s where my kids go to school. I’m on the board of the Avon Free Library and Livingston County Tourism. I’m also involved locally with the Avon Chamber of Commerce and the Avon Holiday Spectacular.
