Where do you live?
Dansville, New York
What brought you to LivCo?
I was born and raised in Livingston County and have always called Dansville my home. As a summer job when I was in college, I worked as a teller in the local branch of a bank and decided that after graduation I would pursue a career in banking. For the better part of 25 years, I worked in the retail branch network and commercial lending lines of business before opting for a change to economic development. My banking background has given me a good foundation for the work we do here in Livingston County to grow the economy and improve the overall quality of life for our residents!
What do you primarily work on in the office?
My workday never seems typical, but primarily I focus on business attraction, retention, and expansion. As a rural county, we have several strengths to offer our current and prospective employers including affordability, availability, and accessibility. Within a 6-hour radius, a business has access to over one-third of the population in the northeast and Canada. That's almost 90 million people! Our workforce is loyal and productive, exhibits low turnover, and is adaptable to several industry sectors. I'm a firm believer that if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life!
Favorite LivCo Spot:
There's a 9-hole golf course called Brae Burn Golf Club where I learned to play the game. I can't even guess how many rounds I've played there and I still enjoy every one of them. My son and daughter have a starter set of clubs and I look forward to introducing them to Brae Burn too.
Favorite LivCo Meal:
There are way too many places to mention that serve great wings (Buffalo-style, of course). Pair that with one of the phenomenal beers brewed throughout the County, and I'm set. Special shoutout to the Cinnamon Buns at Sweet Arts Bakery!
Favorite LivCo Event:
The Dogwood Festival that takes place every spring in Dansville.
How do you invest in LivCo?
My parents always instilled in me the need to be involved and to give back. I have been part of several different community organizations, such as the local and County Chambers of Commerce, Rotary, and United Way. My wife and I are raising our two children here and look forward to what the future holds for us.
